Inclusion in Action on the Golf Course – Inclusive Golf Event Was a Great Success

On 23 September 2026, inclusion in action was on full display at Golf Lounge Resort in Hamburg-Moorfleet: more than 50 participants and carers came together for a shared day of golf. The participants with intellectual and physical disabilities represented eight Hamburg organisations and clubs, including Elbe-Werkstätten, Hilda Heinemann Haus and KIDS Hamburg e.V.

The invitation came from managing director Peter Merck, with Brücken für Kinder e.V. as the event partner.

Golf for different abilities and talents

In bright sunshine, the group headed to the driving range and the mini-golf green. The activities were tailored to different abilities and talents, including mini golf and boccia golf.

The accessible nine-hole golf course was designed from the outset with the needs of people with disabilities in mind. After an introduction, participants hit the ball surprisingly long distances. The call to lunch went completely unnoticed because many preferred to keep playing.

Sixty metres after some valuable tips

Together, anything is possible

The awards ceremony brought the day to a close in high spirits, and many would love to repeat an event like this. Flying balls, good conversations and beaming faces made clear what inclusion on the golf course is all about: together, anything is possible.
