Project Week
Elite School of Sports – Stadtteilschule Alter Teichweg visits Moorfleet
Welcome to Moorfleet
Students from Stadtteilschule Alter Teichweg spent a project week at Golf Lounge Resort. Welcome to Moorfleet! For an entire week, golf was the centre of their world – with an ambitious goal: by the end of the week, every single student should leave with a completed Platzreife (the German handicap qualification).
Stadtteilschule Alter Teichweg is one of the nationally certified Elite Schools of Sports. That makes it the perfect partner for a project like this: ambitious young people, used to focused training – which makes it easy to trust them with rapid progress, even in a new sport.

The goal of the Elite Schools of Sports
The mission of Germany's 43 certified Elite Schools of Sports is to provide optimal support for young competitive athletes – in balance with their school education. School and sport should not block each other but reinforce each other: flexible timetables, training that fits the school day, and teachers who understand how competitive sport works.
That mindset is exactly what the students from Alter Teichweg brought with them to Moorfleet: focused, curious, full of humour and ready to dive into a new sport.
„Five days, one class, one goal – by the end of the week, everyone had their handicap qualification in the bag."
Five days to Platzreife with Erik Sellhorn
Under the guidance of volunteer coach Erik Sellhorn, every student earned their Platzreife in just 5 days on our course in Moorfleet. From the very first swing on the practice mat to putting, chipping and rules theory, all the way to playing the course – Erik structured the week so that, by the end, everyone passed both the theoretical and practical exams with confidence.
Want to do the Platzreife yourself? Find everything you need on our Platzreife page. For schools, clubs and groups, our events are also a great way in.
