The photovoltaic system on the roofs of the golf resort in Moorfleet is a building block of our gradual shift towards more resource-friendly operation. Instead of a single prestige investment, we rely on a combination: self-consumption of electricity for range lighting, simulators, kitchen and climate systems, plus the option to feed surplus energy into the grid. The approach is deliberately pragmatic. A year-round, covered golf facility has an energy demand that can neither be argued away nor completely avoided. It is all the more important to visibly increase the share of self-generated renewable energy – alongside measures like more efficient lighting, optimised heating and more careful treatment of the site itself.
